I’ve had the pleasure of working with Albanica Wine for years, having previously designed their logo and their original website. When the opportunity arose to revitalize their digital presence and showcase their new offerings, including a unique Wine Tasting Green Forest Tourism experience, I were eager to bring a fresh perspective to their online story.
A Longstanding Partnership
My journey with Albanica Wine began with establishing a strong brand identity. Crafted a memorable logo that captured the elegance and passion behind their wines, and later developed their first website. Over time, as digital trends evolved and mobile usage soared, it became clear that a modern, user-centric approach was needed. This redesign not only refreshed the site but also allowed us to introduce new content that highlights their latest venture into immersive tourism.
The Challenge

Alongside their traditional wine offerings, the client requested fresh context sections to showcase their exciting Wine Tasting Green Forest Tourism initiative, which includes:
- Caravan Accommodation: Providing an intimate experience with up to ten caravans per night.
- Private Events: Hosting exclusive gatherings and private dining events at their restaurant.
In addition to these new offerings, I focused on several key improvements:
- Mobile Optimization: Addressing the shortcomings of the previous layout to cater to a growing mobile audience.
- Visual Enhancements: Upgrading image quality and optimizing website speed to meet modern expectations.
- User Engagement: Enhancing features like the contact form and integrating chat options (including WhatsApp) for improved communication.
- Product Presentation: Reorganizing the product listing structure for a more intuitive browsing experience.
Our Approach on the Wix Platform
We decided to rebuild the website on Wix, a powerful drag-and-drop platform that empowers the Albanica Wine team to manage and update their site with ease. Here’s how I approached the redesign:
1. Rethinking the Layout
Adopting a mobile-first philosophy, reworked every element-from navigation to product listings-to ensure a seamless, responsive experience across all devices. This modern layout not only meets the demands of today's users but also elevates the overall aesthetic of the site.
2. Enhancing Visual Quality
High-quality visuals are essential for conveying the luxury and authenticity of Albanica Wine.
- Optimized Images: Adjusted image resolution quality for every label, vineyard scene, and new tourism offering, ensuring every visual loads efficiently.
- Kept It Real: Deliberately chose not to Photoshop the pictures of their restaurant and products - except resizing for optimal load time. This intentional decision preserves the authentic feel of the venue, echoing the brand’s commitment to originality and genuine experiences.
3. Boosting Accessibility
Updated the color contrast ratio across the site to enhance readability and ensure that every visitor, regardless of visual ability, can comfortably navigate the content.
4. Upgrading User Interaction
Effective communication is key. To enhance user engagement:
- Revamped the Contact Form: Streamlined the design for quick and hassle-free inquiries.
- Integrated Enhanced Chat Options: Added a chat feature that connects seamlessly with popular communication apps like WhatsApp, allowing customers to reach out effortlessly.
5. Reorganizing Content and Product Listings
Created dedicated sections for Albanica Wine’s traditional offerings as well as their innovative Wine Tasting Green Forest Tourism experience:
- Caravan Accommodation: Clearly presenting the unique overnight caravan experiences.
- Private Events: Highlighting the exclusive private dining opportunities at their restaurant.
